Not even a tiny dotfile?
I was pretty enthusiastic about EverNote after my first glance. I liked the idea of a service that would take anything you threw at it and worry about understanding it later, we've got forever right?
I was a bit disappointed that apart from images, it discarded any attachments I emailed to it. To be fair, I only tried a couple of MS Office documents and my screenrc (gotta keep those dotfiles). Thing is, I had rather hoped, within reasonable limits, that these would be saved as notes.
RIP Sheldon Brown

I am deeply saddened to read that Sheldon Brown, the doyen of web bike mechanics, has recently passed away. Sheldon's wonderful site is the antithesis of the surly condescending guy in the LBS. It answers every question you've never asked about crazy Italian bottom brackets, how to weld your own tandem and, of course, how to build the now de-rigeur fixie. He managed to do this with the delightful, easy wit of your favourite uncle.
So is Second Life nothing but a pyramid scheme?
This is the question posed by Randolph Harrison at Capitalism 2.0. He caused a storm of controversy with this post which suggests it is. He received his share of criticism from Second Lifers, including a raft of people claiming to run profitable businesses.
